Mike Tyson (Boxer) Fight Night Champion Tyson

Mike Tyson (Boxer) Fight Night Champion Tyson

Mike Tyson fought more patiently than in his previous two bouts as it appeared he had been instructed to take his time, get in rounds, and work on his technique. Don Halpin mostly worked behind a jab and connected with a left hook as the round ended. Iron Mike Tyson landed several more shots in the round that snapped back Halpin's head. A left hook followed by a right hand hurt Don Halpin and sent him back into the ropes. Don Halpin came out in Round 4 in the southpaw stance, before quickly switching back to orthodox. A left hook followed by a right hand sent Don Halpin back into the ropes and down into the round. Iron Mike Tyson connected with a big right uppercut as Don Halpin went down that snapped back his head sharply and broke his nose. Iron Mike Tyson 2-0 (2 KOs) vs. Don Halpin 10-18 (8 KOs) At 212 lbs., Iron Mike Tyson was fighting at the lightest weight of his professional career. Halpin entered having lost his three previous bouts by knockout. Iron Mike Tyson entered having won both of his previous fights by first-round knockout. It was the last Tyson fight to be scheduled for four rounds. Ticket prices for the Fight were $10, $12, and $15.

Best Boxing Fight Ever Seen - Tyson vs Donnie

Best Boxing Fight Ever Seen - Tyson vs Donnie

This was the first Mike Tyson fight I ever saw. Being in Washington state and no internet, I've never even heard of him before this fight. Iron Mike Tyson Earlier in the card, Bert Cooper fought on the card. Just like Mike Tyson, he also had a record of 9-0 with 9 Knockout going into this night. Not surprisingly Cooper's first fight to go the distance took place, and this continued a trend where it seemed every time I saw a fighter with Knockout in all his victories I happened to witness the first fight to go the distance. When Mike Tyson is record was announced I knew it was going to happen twice in one night. Obviously, that didn't happen, and I knew like pretty much everybody else who watched this fight that he was going to be heavyweight champion of the world. The story of Donnie Long is actually surprisingly interesting. Jailed for murder at only 18 (he claimed self-defense), married the sister of the guy he killed, got released and started boxing. It just goes to show that the journeymen you see on a top fighter's resume all have stories and struggles of their own, just as much as any great name fighter or champion. There's a middle-aged guy called Donnie Long who makes music too now, but I'm not sure if it's our Donnie Long. I've always found this pre-fight interview hilarious, that fucking smile, almost like he's not even trying to hide the fact that he's full of shit. "I can punch...if not better than Mike Tyson". Wherever Donnie Long actually is today, I hope he's doing well. #miiketyson #donnielong #tysonknockout #knockoutmike #miketysonknockout #knockoutmiketyson #tysonvsdonnie

Mike Tyson vs Razor Ruddock II HD (Extreme Fights)

Mike Tyson vs Razor Ruddock II
Three months earlier, Tyson and Ruddock, who were boxing's number one and two ranked heavyweights respectively, had fought each other to determine who would next face the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion Evander Holyfield. After much demand, promoters Don King and Murad Muhammad announced on March 27 that a rematch would in fact happen.[1] However, shortly after the announcement was made, the rematch was canceled after Muhammad was given a one-year suspension by the Nevada Athletic Commission for his role in the post-fight brawl and Ruddock pulled out of the match, refusing to participate without his promoter.[2] Nevertheless, Muhammad announced that the fight was back on 10 days later.[3] Prior to the fight, the two men publicly expressed their dislike for one another. #miketyson #miketysonvs #miketysonvsrazorruddock #razorruddock #extremefights

The fight was a hard fought one, with both men hitting each other with power punches throughout the fight. After being hit with a left hook to the shoulder, Ruddock tripped over Tyson's right leg and fell to the canvas. Shortly after, Tyson would illegally hit Ruddock with a right hand as the two men were being separated by Steele, though Steele did not deduct a point from Tyson. After hitting Tyson with a straight left hand with less than 10 seconds to go in the round, Tyson countered with a powerful left hook to the side of Ruddock's head that again sent Ruddock to the canvas. Though Ruddock remained on his feet and was seemingly healthy enough to continue the fight, Steele stepped between the two fighters and stopped the fight, awarding Tyson the victory by technical knockout. The decision enraged Ruddock's corner with Ruddock's brother and manager, Delroy storming the ring to confront Steele. #miketyson #miketysonvs #knockouts #miketysonfights #extremefights

Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield - II (Extreme Fights)

Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield - II (Extreme Fights)

Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield - II, billed as "The Sound and the Fury" and afterward infamously referred to as "The Bite Fight", was a professional boxing match contested on June 28, 1997, for the WBA Heavyweight Championship. It achieved notoriety as one of the most bizarre fights in boxing history, after Tyson bit off part of Holyfield's ear. Tyson was disqualified from the match and lost his boxing license, though it was later reinstated.

The fight took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The referee officiating the fight was Mills Lane, who was brought in as a late replacement when Tyson's camp protested the original selection of Mitch Halpern (who officiated the first fight) as the referee.[1]

Tyson and Holyfield fought seven months earlier in Las Vegas. Tyson was making his first defense of the WBA championship he had won from Bruce Seldon in a first-round knockout. Holyfield, despite being a former champion, was a significant underdog entering the match as he had been rather lackluster in several fights since he returned to fighting in 1995 after a brief retirement. However, Holyfield surprised Tyson by controlling the contest and knocked him down in the sixth round. Halpern stopped the fight in the eleventh round, giving Holyfield an upset victory.[citation needed]
